About

I’m passionate about helping charities use communications to help their cause – no matter how small the budget.

I have over 20 years of experience in communications in the charity sector in North East England. Before this, I worked in the IT and TV industries. I have a Masters in Computing and a degree in Communications Studies. This gave me technical knowledge, but with the ability to explain it in plain English!

I’ve worked with charities large and small, and understand the issues they face. Quite often there isn’t the budget for a full-time permanent member of staff, yet people recognise they need a helping hand with communications. I can bring my specialist knowledge and flexibility, whether that be on a long-term contract, or for specific projects.

My wide range of experience includes creating communications strategies, managing award-winning websites, running social media accounts, producing digital content, editing publications and ebulletins, creating media campaigns, as well as managing staff and projects. I deliver workshops on creating ebulletins, blogging, social media strategies, run one-to-one masterclasses and write articles, policies and guidelines on everything comms-related.

I now work for a range of charity clients on a freelance basis, and love my work! Read more about the services I offer and view my LinkedIn profile.

When not in front of a laptop I love cycling, hill walking, running and camping under the stars. I live in Whitley Bay beside the sea with my husband Paul, our 4 teenage kids and our mad cat Darwin.
